Hairstyles for Ladies Summer 2010

Hairstyles for Ladies Summer 2010

Ladies have a wide variety of hairstyles to choose from for summer 2010. More and more hairstylist are developing styles that fit in with the busy lifestyle that most modern women live. These styles allow women to have long hair that is easy to style, short hair they can just wash and finger dry, or medium styles that are the best of both worlds.

Long, sleek hair is an excellent style for summer 2010. Whether layered or all one length, long hair looks excellent when it's healthy and sleek. Use a flat iron and smoothing serum to get the look, which won't take you very long at all to do. There is nothing wrong with long hair during the summer, so if it's what you want, try the sleek look for a sexy new hairstyle.

For those who love short hair, pixies are as popular as ever. Extremely short, or the newer layered pixie that is just a little bit longer, either one is great for most women. If your face shape normally prohibits you from enjoying a pixie cut, then you might want to consider one of the layered pixies. These styles are a bit longer while still retaining the look and shape of the traditional pixie, and are great ways to use bangs to make the look work for you.
Medium hair lovers will adore the shag style this summer. This layered cut is great because it is extremely easy to style. In fact, many people use their fingers and nothing else! Light-weight thanks to the layers, it is very attractive with its razor textures at the ends. Shags can be longer or shorter depending on personal preference, but they always look great and are excellent for anyone, no matter what shape their face is.

Keys' show a shallow mess

With radio and concert stages cluttered with Auto Tuned no-talents, a performer with gospel in her voice and classical training in her fingers is someone to be cherished.

So it's doubly disappointing how Alicia Keys has abandoned the promise of her early work for the safety net of shallow pop.

Sunday night's concert at the St. Pete Times Forum, before a crowd of 7,375, illustrated the problem. The focus was squarely on the show - dancers, a splashy set, costumes - with the music just another element of the entertainment package.

That's standard procedure for concerts by the latest "American Idol" winner or Disney sensation. But Keys has the talent and the tunes those performers normally lack. She doesn't need the props.

Alicia Keys ready for family

Alicia Keys thinks starting a family will be "the most beautiful experience" she will ever have.

The "Doesn't Mean Anything" singer - who got engaged to music producer Swizz Beats in January - can't wait to settle down and become a mother but admits there are lots of things she wants to do with her career first.

She said: "I absolutely am very interested in starting a family. It is one of the most beautiful experiences to have in this life and I am looking forward to it when it is my time.

"I have a lot of things I still want to do. As far as retirement goes, I just wanted to have the ability, if I so choose, to be able to do so. But I fell that I am just getting started."

Normally, longer hairstyles can have longer waves or elaborate dos. In this way, it will not require you to have extensions. Fashioned hairstyle like classic bobs and sleek simple cuts are possible if you have medium length of hair. This is because they are so flexible that several unique looks can be produced. On the other hand, short hairstyles keep changing in popularity. However, women seem to love shorter hair. It is because shorter hair is easy to manage. One of the fave short hairstyles definitely is the pixie cut made popular by Natalie Portman, which indicates that short hairstyles too keep up with the latest in different hair length styles.

Graduated Bob Hairstyle for Summer

Graduated Bob Hairstyle for Summer

One hairstyle that never goes out of style is the bob hairstyle. Bobs are great short hairstyles that are easy to maintain, attractive, and versatile. The bob can be adjusted to suit any face shape. The graduated bob is just one of the many different kinds of bobs that you can get. This bob suits pretty much all face shapes, and is a good way of showing off both your face and any coloring ideas that you have.

Usually, the graduated bob is short at the back of your neck and gets longer as you get towards your face. Graduated layers need to be cut in such a way that your hair has body and movement. To get the graduated look, the sides should be step cut neatly. You can part it straight on one side or do an uneven parting on the side and it will still look great. You can even wear this kind of bob long – simply cut your hair short at the nape of the neck but use long and graduated sides, with the length just above your chest at the longest point, and part your hair in the middle.

There are many ways to style a graduated bob. For example, style some hair in waves and leave some straight. Use sweeping side bangs to make your graduated bob look soft and sensual. You can add a fringe for an even more unique look. A straight blunt fringe to your eyebrows will give you a bold look, while a softer look can be gotten from cutting your bangs into a wispy fringe and sweeping it sideways. Straight fringes will give you a cute, fun look, so just experiment until you find what you love!

In fact, if your hair is healthy, you probably already have her hair color. You can enhance your highlights if you want to but if your hair is healthy, you probably won't need to. If your hair is any other color and you want to match Nicole's then you'll need to dye your hair black. Before you dye your hair, make sure that it's healthy, as this will lessen any damage your hair may get from the dyeing process. Many professional stylists will refuse to dye your hair if it's broken, very dry, or otherwise unhealthy, so just make sure to start using that conditioner!

If you have never colored your hair, it is best that you see a stylist. This way you will be able to get the color that you are looking for without having to worry about messing up your hair. Keep in mind that your skin tone plays an important part in how your hair will ultimately look. Very pale skin tones may not look all that great with black hair; in fact, the look can be startling. If you don't mind this, or know that black hair will look great on you, then go ahead and dye it black. If you have good natural highlights, then you may not have to add highlights. If you do, make sure that they will enhance your own highlights and go for colors that will shine silvery or a deeper black.

Alicia Keys Has Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles as Surprise Guests in Concert

Alicia Keys' concert at Madison Square Garden had more than one surprise guest. Crowd attending the March 17 gig went wild when the "No One" singer was joined by Beyonce Knowles during her "Put It in a Love Song" performance.

Alicia also welcomed another guest when singing "Empire State of Mind" and the mystery guest is none other than Beyonce's husband Jay-Z. Moreover, her producer/singer boyfriend Swizz Beatz also briefly came onto the stage to support her.

Before Alicia Keys kicked off her set, Jermaine Paul, Melanie Fiona and Robin Thicke appeared one by one, serving as her opening acts. "I'm a renegade. I'm a truth seeker. They told me I would never make it and I did. They told me I wasn't strong enough but I am mighty. The element of freedom is tattooed on my heart," so Alicia said before starting the main show.

Alicia Keys to open FIFA world cup

Alicia Keys and Black Eyed Peas will perform at a concert to launch the soccer world cup in South Africa.

Shakira, John Legend, Amadou & Mariam, Angelique Kidjo, Parlotones, BLK JKS, Tinariwen, Vieux Farka Touré, and Vusi Mahlasela will also take to the stage for the extravaganza. The concert will be held at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg on June 10.

"This concert will be a testament to the universal and unifying power of football and music," Jerome Valcke, from soccer's governing body FIFA, said. "We are thrilled to have a concert of such magnitude and performing talent raise the curtain on the first FIFA World Cup in Africa."

It's the element of balance for Alicia Keys

Alicia Keys says that balance is very important to her. "There's no getting around putting in the work," she said at a recent lecture to NYU students. "But there's more creativity to be found in balance."

After 10 years in the music business, Keys said she has learned that being a workaholic doesn't necessarily bring better work. It's an idea she put into practice as she worked on her...

Alicia Keys has a sharein music's Ivy tradition

Anyone who believes mainstream musicians can't be brainiacs simply hasn't shuffled through the list of notable alumni from our country's top colleges and universities. Just take a look at pop-R&B-soul-jazz chanteuse Alicia Keys, who studied at Columbia University for a year before taking off to pursue her music career full time.

OK, so we never said they all finished school, did we?

Besides, Keys was already a no-brainer for the Ivy League before she polished her singing chops: She was valedictorian of her high school at the tender age of 16 and enrolled at Columbia soon after. Eventually, Keys settled for another Columbia – the record company.

An 'Element' to Alicia Keys is something old, something new

A baseball World Series ring is about the only piece of hardware R&B singer-songwriter Alicia Keys hasn't owned in her short but very successful career.

But an argument can be made that her and Jay-Z's rendition of their hit, "Empire State of Mind,'' performed by the duo at Yankee Stadium when the Yanks were down 0-1 to the Phillies last fall, inspired the home team to victory in the games, and the series.

"I don't know if (the Yankees) directly thanked Jay or me in any way, but I know that's what they meant, and when they got that ring, they were like "Yes!,' and we dedicate this to Alicia and Jay,'' said Keys in a recent conference call. "We actually should have an honorary ring, I think.''

Yankees fans, we think, will agree.

Keys comes to New Jersey this weekend with shows tonight at the Prudential Center in Newark and Saturday at the arena at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City in support of her latest album, "The Element of Freedom.'' The work, which debuted No. 2 in the nation in December and has sold more than 2 million copies, continues Keys' streak of musical elegance and excellence, but this time does so with a bit of an '80s retro flare. Musical crescendos and swells are more pronounced on "Element'' as compared to previous works, thanks to the use of '80s-style synthesizers. The era's drum machines abound on the album, and the songs also have the decade's theatrical embellishments.

"It is testament to the universal and unifying power of football and music, and will start the competition off on the right note – of celebration."

Alicia Keys And Swizz Beatz Have Coming Out Debut at Gotham Magazine Party

Alicia Keys and her secret boyfriend, music producer Swizz Beatz stepped out together as a couple for the first time as the singer played host at Niche Media’s Annual Gotham Magazine Gala presented by Bing. They posed cheek-to-cheek on the red carpet and remained very close inside. Swizz even took a few family shots with Keys’ mother, Terri. Their relationship has been on the down-low because Swizz was going through a messy divorce from his wife Mashonda.

Alicia and Swizz supposedly got engaged in January, but they have been keeping away from the media for fears of triggering rumors of an affair while Beatz was still married. The record producer has officially confirmed that his divorce from singer Mashonda is now final and says it was the hardest thing he’s ever had to face in his life.

Scots roots instilled a work ethic that helped make me successful, says US singer Alicia Keys

ALICIA KEYS reckons her Scots origins have helped her become the global superstar she is today. The R& B superstar, in the charts with the brilliant Empire State Of Mind Part II, puts her success and how she has coped with it down to her mum Terri, who is part-Scottish, part Italian-Irish.

Born Alicia Augello Cook, she was raised by Terri and her African-American paternal grandmother Virgiel in the tough Hell's Kitchen area of Manhattan, after her parents divorced when she was two.

And Alicia insists her mum instilled in her the work ethic that led to her becoming one of the world's most successful music stars of the past decade.

As well as the follow-up to Part I of Empire State Of Mind with Jay Z, her fourth album The Element Of Freedom is also storming the charts.

Having sold a staggering 30million records and won 12 Grammy Awards since her 2001 debut album Songs in A Minor, she says: "I have been to Scotland a couple of times.

Alicia Keys "Seems Really Happy" With Swizz Beatz

Famously private singer Alicia Keys scored plenty of buzz earlier this week when she stepped out publicly for the first time with producer Swizz Beatz.

But pal and tourmate Melanie Fiona, who was at the Gotham magazine party where Alicia and Swizz made their debut, said last night the singer seems content these days.

“I’m really happy for her, she seems really happy,” the rising soul singer told NiteSide at the Music Unites “Empowering Women Through Music” launch event at the Cooper Square Hotel Tuesday night.

“She looked beautiful. I was just happy that not only can I be there to support her just as a fellow artist but now as a friend, so it was great.”

Beach Hair Ideas

Beach Hair Ideas for Summer 2010

Everyone loves the beach, but no one likes having to spend a long time trying to get a hairstyle that will look good on the beach without becoming flat or frizzed. There are several styles that you can choose from that will give you a great look without all the fuss, and will get you out and having fun in the sun in no time.

One of the best styles to wear for the beach is a low-key wavy style. This style is very easy to do yourself, so you don't have to worry about getting an appointment with a stylist. In fact, this style looks best when it's not perfectly done! Wash your hair and towel dry, then put it up in a few fat braids and go to bed. When you get up in the morning, just undo the braids, comb your fingers through your hair, and you're ready to hit the beach. This look won't frizz or anything, and you'll look great all day long.

Another great style is just a ponytail. Yes, a ponytail. Pull your hair into a ponytail, preferably a low one, and then separate the tail into two different sections. Simply twist them about halfway down and secure. This is a cute and trendy look that will keep your hair cleaner and out of your face. You can also try a braid instead of just a twist, and that will look wonderful on the beach as well. Adding a flower or other accessories is a great idea for a beach party.

Popular Hair Colors for Summer

Popular Hair Colors for Summer

Summer is a time for fun, excitement, and brand new hair colors. Hair color trends come and go, sometimes as fast as the actual season they are popular. This summer, you are free to do pretty much whatever you want, but you should keep a few things in mind when you are choosing a new color for your hair.

A trend that will be rather popular is the 80's cyber hair colors. Streaks of black, neon green, blues, and pinks in unexpected places will be in, but this kind of hair will depend entirely on what scene you are currently into. Contrasting highlights are another thing that will be pretty popular this summer. For example, brown hair with platinum highlights or blonde hair with red highlights. Again, this is more of a scene look and you should be careful when you decide to go with this style that it is really what you want, because it can be hard to get your hair looking natural again.

Natural colors
are very popular for this summer. This means choosing colors that look good with your complexion, not something that is obviously fake or is overly dramatic. If you want to go for a natural color, keep in mind that highlights are not as popular in a natural look this summer. If you really want highlights, go for the sun-kissed look. Use colors that are just a shade lighter than your hair color, and spread them around under the layers to give a soft, natural look to your hair. You should also choose matte colors, like reds, deep browns, or blacks. If you really like blonde, choose warm blonde tones, such as honey blondes or golden blondes. Platinum will be fine this summer as long as it matches your skin tone.

Medium Haircuts for Girls, Summer 2010

Medium Haircuts for Girls, Summer 2010

Medium haircuts
are perfect for many girls. They offer all the benefits of long hair, but without all the hassles of long hair. In fact, some medium styles are actually wash and go styles, that a girl can style with just her fingers. This is great for those girls who have a very active lifestyle, or those who just don't want to spend a lot of time on their hair. As amazing as it may seem, some girls just aren't that fond of messing with their hair!
Shag Hair

One great medium style for girls this summer is the shag. The shag has made a comeback, and it's cuter than ever. Girls of all ages can enjoy the shag, which is one of the easiest hairstyles to manage. It is definitely best to get this style done by a professional, since a razor is often used to texture the hair and if not used right, can damage hair. Shags are cut in layers, with lots of height on top if desired, and are an easy, messy look. In fact, it is quite easy to wash a shag and head right out the door because no special tools or products are needed to style a shag.
Bob Hair

Another great medium length style for girls is a bob. Inverted bobs are excellent – these bobs are longer in back than they are in front. Angled bobs are another excellent choice. Bobs can be cut to suit any face shape, so any girl will look great with a cute bob. These hairstyles are also being cut longer than ever, so a medium length bob will be right in style. Bobs are much more flattering than some other medium styles, and are easy to transition from daytime games to dinners out with family. Bobs are also much cooler in the summer than some other styles, and layering can give a girl a lot of options where things like highlighting is concerned.
